Mission
To identify, create, develop and
retain a motivated and qualified workforce in East
Central Minnesota through a dynamic partnership between
business, industry, public and private agencies, PK-12
and higher education. The East Central Minnesota
Workforce Partnership serves as a catalyst in this
effort.
Goals
Training
1. To promote employee training for incumbent
workers through
- Community education
- Higher education/Customized training
- Formal and informal employer training
cooperatives
- Mentor training
- Workforce support teams
- And others
2. To develop future workers through
- Job shadowing
- Registered youth apprenticeships
- Retail sales associate training (Ex. of
employability skills)
- Basic skill development
- Emphasize soft skills measured by Employability

3. To motivate employers to recognize the value of
investing in workforce training and provide training
opportunities for employees.

Resources, Advocacy and Support
1. To help secure resources (grants) and
support funding opportunities related to workforce
development.
2. To maintain connections with and support other
non-profit organizations with like goals.
3. To be a visible and vocal advocate for career
and technical education on a local, regional and
statewide level.
Networking
1. To maintain an organizational structure
that can respond to opportunities and workforce
development needs in a timely manner.
2. To strengthen the connections between education
and work for learners and staff by school/work
experiences with business/industry.
3. To develop the mechanisms for communications
between business, industry, public and private
agencies, PK-12 and higher education.
