Call to Order
Chair John N. called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Implementation Grant Approvals
School-To-Work Implementation grant requests were received from Cambridge-Isanti, Hinckley/Finlayson, Mora, Pine City and Princeton.
The Cambridge-Isanti request was for $13,000 for middle level career exploration, high school advisor-advisee, community partners for social studies, job shadowing at ALC and sustainability activities.
The Hinckley/Finlayson request was for Years IV and V for $8,000.00 for job shadowing, career search and student portfolios.
The Mora request was for $6,000.00 for career center continuation, career center materials and initiating portfolios in grade 7.
The Pine City request was for $5,300.00 for business and education breakfast, students in the workplace, teachers in the workplace and employer scholarships.
The Princeton request was for $8,700.00 for registration/career expo, working together/educators in the workplace, middle school career exploration, Kaleidoscope inventories, marketing/communication, Take 20 reading program, middle school mentoring and high school curriculum writing.
Moved by John S., seconded by Ginger G. to approve implementation grants. Carried.
Upon motion by Ginger G., seconded by John S. the board authorized Braham ALP to use supplementary grant funds for NovaNET training instead of for software purchase. Motion carried.
Moved by Ginger G., seconded by Terry D. to submit Year VI Extension grant. Carried.
